April 9 – 11, 2010: Comfort Zone Camp, the nation’s largest bereavement camp for children, will hold a weekend camp session for children ages 7 – 17 who have experienced the loss of a parent, guardian or sibling. Comfort Zone Camp Offers Free Grief Support Groups for Children, Teens and Adults
Groups are available for children and teens ages 5-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary care giver. Our adult groups are available to those who have lost a spouse or significant other and a separate adult group will be available to those who have experienced the loss of a child. Groups will meet simultaneously in order to serve the entire family.
All groups are provided free of charge
Groups are facilitated by trained grief counselors that will help participants share their personal stories, identify feelings and emotions, discover coping strategies and move forward by honoring loved ones and keeping memories present in our lives.

Full Circle Grief Center - Program Schedule Summer 2010

Grief support services at no cost for children and adolescents ages 3-18, as well as their parents/caregivers.
Hands on Healing Groups
Professional counselors use various forms of creative expression to help the group members tell their story of loss, identify their feelings, establish effective coping strategies and communication skills, and discover ways to remember their loved ones.

Creative Connections Remembrance Workshops
Professional counselors work with children to create a keepsake or memorial piece to honor a loved one. A concurrent adult support group is offered.

This program is offered by Hospice of Virginia and Full Circle Grief Center. It is designed for grieving children and their caregivers, providing opportunity to commemorate a loved one and to process feelings of loss through art and other expressive ways. Programs may use art, craft making, writing, movement and dance, using different methods each month.

Bereavement support groups. Educational and experiential workshops on grief related issues. Short term grief counseling provided by bereavement counselors. Youth services provided through the Journeys program, where children and teens (ages 4-18 years old) receive support and grief education and use art as a tool for creative expression.
